OUR
STORY
Afro Van Connect is more than a platform—it's a movement. Since 2019, we've been a cultural heartbeat for Vancouver's African diaspora, creating spaces where culture thrives, connections deepen, and collective excellence is amplified.
From intimate gatherings to province-wide activations, we bring together the diverse and dynamic expressions of African cultures across British Columbia. Our work is rooted in community, storytelling, and shared experience—centering voices, creativity, and leadership from across the diaspora.
Our mission is simple: to connect, celebrate, and elevate our community.

Our dedicated board and team members bring diverse expertise and a shared passion for building a stronger African community in British Columbia.

Kor Kase (Buni Kor)
Founder
Buni Kor aka Kor Kase is an actor, artist, activist, writer, designer, event coordinator, and founder of Afro Van Connect. Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kor began his acting and music career in the 2010's releasing music independently on online platforms and playing local shows in the Vancouver community. As an actor he has appeared on shows like Man in the High Castle, iZombie, and See. In 2019 Kor co-founded Afro Van Connect, an organization focused on creating Black Spaces and platforms for African descent people to connect and express themselves. The intention of Afro Van Connect is to build a strong community through creating safe spaces for healing, rooted conversations, and the arts. It is his goal to promote messages of empowerment, love, unity and equality—using his platform to highlight injustices and inequities in the hopes of creating awareness and meaningful change.
