Afro Van Connect is proud to partner with the Vancouver International Film Festival to spotlight stories that connect history, land, identity, and the ongoing pursuit of justice.
This year, we’re giving away tickets to see Kikuyu Land, a powerful documentary from Andrew H. Brown and Bea Wangondu.
Set in Kenya’s highlands, Kikuyu Land examines the lasting consequences of colonial land dispossession. Through personal testimony, archival research, and the story of Mr. Mungai’s effort to reclaim land taken from his family, the film draws a direct connection between colonial history and the realities facing communities within Kenya’s tea industry today.
