About
Amina Traore is a Malian-Canadian urban farmer and educator who founded one of Vancouver's first African community gardens. Her work focuses on food sovereignty, teaching traditional African farming techniques adapted for BC's climate, and connecting community members with their agricultural heritage. Amina's TEDx talk on 'Decolonizing Our Plates' has inspired a movement of young African-Canadians to explore sustainable agriculture as both a career and a form of cultural preservation.
