About
Kwame Asante is a Ghanaian-Canadian visual artist whose work has been exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery and in public spaces throughout BC. His large-scale murals and mixed-media pieces explore themes of identity, heritage, and cultural preservation. Kwame received a Canada Council for the Arts grant to develop his series 'Ancestral Futures,' which reimagines African mythologies in contemporary contexts. He also teaches community art workshops focused on connecting youth with their heritage.
